Seeds of light

MATARIKI + WINTER SOLSTICE IMMERSION

a collaboration

Tash Coneybeer | Yee Ley Lau | Radha Iveta

Friday, 20 June | 1:00pm – 6:30PM

About the event

As Matariki rises and a new season begins, we come together in a shared space of reflection and renewal.

Guided by three voices, this gathering is an invitation to honour what has been, connect with what’s here and open to what’s ready to grow.

A quiet moment to pause, realign, and plant new seeds – with presence, with care and with light.

〰️ CACAO CEREMONY

Cacao has been used for thousands of years to support connection—with self, with others, and with spirit. In ceremony, it helps quiet the noise, awaken the senses, and open the heart. When paired with intention and creative expression, it becomes a powerful ally for tuning into your deeper longings and inner knowing.

We’ll begin with a cacao ceremony using pure, ceremonial-grade cacao sourced from Guatemala—selected for its energetic potency. As the cacao moves through the body, it softens resistance and sharpens clarity, creating fertile ground for vision and insight.

〰️ YIN YOGA + SOUND JOURNEY

Settle in for a nourishing session of yin yoga and sound as we celebrate the rising of Matariki, te Mātahi o te Tau, the Māori New Year. This sacred time invites us to reflect on the past year, celebrate the present, and plant seeds for the year ahead.

Matariki heralds a new beginning in the Māori lunar calendar, symbolising remembrance, renewal, and the celebration of life. The nine stars of Matariki—Matariki, Pōhutukawa, Waitī, Waitā, Waipunarangi, Tipuānuku, Tipuārangi, Ururangi, and Hiwa-i-te-Rangi—each hold unique significance, representing different aspects of nature and human experience.

During our Yin Yoga practice, we will honour these celestial guides by dedicating each pose to their respective energies and stories. With slow, intentional movement, this practice invites a peaceful stillness, grounded awareness, and connection.

Throughout the practice, an immersive sound journey will accompany the yin poses—layers of soothing sound weaving with the flow to mirror the rhythms of nature. The gentle vibrations calm the nervous system, deepen relaxation, and enrich the introspective quality of the practice, supporting the intentions and quiet reflection that Matariki invites.

〰️ VOCAL TONING

Vocal toning or intoning is the creation of extended vocal sounds on a single vowel in order to experience the sound and its effects on different parts of the body. No melody, no words, no rhythm, and no harmony – just the sound of the vibrating breath.

In this guided practice, you’re invited to either listen in or join with your own voice. We’ll use self-created sound to gently give voice to what longs to emerge from within. Journeying from root to crown, we’ll awaken each energy centre with intentional tones—listening, feeling, allowing. At the crown, we open to insight and inspiration, then slowly return, drawing that energy back down—seeding it into the body, where it can take root, grow, and become.

〰️ VISION BOARDS

A vision board is a hand-crafted collage of images and words that reflect your goals, dreams, and desires. It serves as a visual anchor for your intentions—something you can see daily to help keep your focus clear and your energy aligned.

In this guided process, you’ll move through key stages:

  • Understanding the power of intention—and why pairing it with cacao deepens the experience

  • Tapping into your creative potential

  • Recognising your true longings and inner vision

  • Learning how to create and use a vision board in a meaningful, effective way

This is a practice of clarity, creativity, and connection—with yourself and what you’re calling in.

Joined in intention and spirit, we come together to weave past, present, and future – lighting the way forward with renewed energy and shared purpose.
