About the event

Equil is an invitation to return to your centre ~ to meet yourself where opposites touch. The Spring Equinox marks a moment of perfect balance, when day and night stand as equals. In this rare pause, we gather to honour the turning of the season through cacao, sound, and meditative movement.

A space to soften into stillness, awaken what is stirring within, and remember the harmony that lives inside you. Together, we rest in balance ~ each breath, each presence, adding to the whole.

 CACAO CEREMONY
Cacao in ceremony, serves to gently open the heart, inviting a deeper connection to self, to others, and to the present moment. Its active compound, Theobromine, offers a natural, sustained boost in energy and mental clarity — without the crash of stimulants — while enhancing focus and inner stillness. Many experience a sense of emotional release, creative awakening, and renewed purpose, as Cacao helps soften the noise of the mind and attune us to our inner wisdom. Known as a gentle teacher, the spirit of Cacao works subtly, revealing where the heart may be closed and offering strength, compassion, and insight to meet those places with grace. It is a beautiful ally for meditation, movement, and transformation — helping us remember who we are beneath the layers, and return home to a more peaceful, inspired way of being.

BREATH + VOCAL TONING
With breath awareness and simple meditative vocal sounds, we attune the body and mind to the balance of the equinox. From this space, you’ll be gently invited into organic vocal expressions, giving voice to what has been quietly germinating into life. Whether that be a quiet hum or a melody that wants to unfold, what sounds are ready to rise through you?

YIN + YANG YOGA + SOUND JOURNEY
Settle in for a nurturing session of Yin + Yang Yoga and sound ~During our Yin practice, we surrender into stillness, opening the body and mind to introspection and gentle release. Each pose is a portal to attune with the balance of light and dark within and around us, softening tension and inviting a deeper connection to our inner wisdom.

Throughout the practice, Yee Ley weaves immersive soundscapes through the Yin poses ~layers of soothing tones that flow with the rhythm of the body and mirror the natural cycles of spring. The gentle vibrations calm the nervous system, deepen relaxation, and enrich the introspective quality of the practice, supporting the intentions of renewal and equanimity that the Equinox invites.

As we transition into Yang, we awaken vitality through flowing, intentional movement. Breath, body, and sound converge in a dance of receptivity and action, grounding and expansion ~ mirroring the dynamic, blossoming energy of spring itself. This practice invites participants to move with awareness, embody balance, and greet the new season with clarity and presence.

FREE MOVEMENT PRACTICE
No previous experience in dance, movement or yoga required – all are welcome.

Join us in circle to connect with ourselves, our bodies, and our unique expression.

In a safe and supportive space, we gather with the invitation to move, feel, and listen. This is not a dance class or a performance, but a space to let your body lead — to explore what wants to be expressed, released, or remembered. No steps to follow, no right or wrong, just the rhythm of your breath and the music within.

Held in the nourishing presence of Cacao, and attuned to the potent energies of the new moon, solar eclipse, and spring equinox, this practice offers a portal inward — a moment to awaken, soften, and reawaken life energy through the simple act of moving freely.

Whether you’re stretching, swaying, trembling, or still, this practice invites emotional release, stress relief, self-discovery, and deep embodiment. Come as you are, and move like nobody’s watching — because nobody will be.

Let your body speak. Let it sing, shake, flow and rest.
Let yourself be moved.

 STILLNESS + MEDITATION IN ŚAVĀSANA
Melt into the earth and let the quiet wash over you, like sunlight filtering through the branches in early spring. Feel the gentle balance of light and dark within your body, as each breath draws in energy and releases tension. Here, in the embrace of stillness, the sensations, insights, and awakenings from movement, sound, and cacao can settle deeply into your being. Allow yourself to rest fully, sensing the seeds of potential stirring, quietly unfolding within you. This is a space to honor renewal, attune to the rhythms of the season, and feel the harmony that exists when body, breath, and heart come into balance.

 JOURNALLING + SHARING
After resting, gently bring your awareness inward. Let your pen trace the reflections, inspirations, and insights that have emerged throughout the afternoon. Each thought, sensation, or realisation becomes a thread in the tapestry of your experience, anchoring the balance and awakening cultivated during the gathering. Sharing is optional, but in the circle, the simple act of speaking or listening deepens the sense of connection ~ to yourself, to others, and to the luminous potential of the season. This is a moment to honour both your personal journey and the collective energy we have created together.

CONSCIOUS CONNECTION WITH TEA + SNACKS
As the gathering draws to a close, move into mindful presence and the nourishment of gentle ritual. Sip soothing herbal teas, savour berry raw cheesecake and bliss balls, and feel the richness of connection in this shared space. Allow the sweetness, warmth, and grounded energy of these offerings to settle in your body, celebrating the day’s awakening. This simple act of nourishment becomes a final meditation ~ a ritual that roots the energy of Equil into your heart, body, and spirit, leaving you restored, radiant, and attuned to the balance of the season.

Joined in intention and presence, we carry the quiet radiance of Equil with us ~ the balance of light and dark, the gentle stirring of new beginnings, and the harmony awakened within. Together, in stillness, movement, and connection, we step into the season with clarity, grace, and an open heart.
